What it means to be a Friend of Richardson Hospital
Friends of Richardson Hospital is dedicated to fostering a sense of community between our staff, patients, and the surrounding rural area. Our mission is to provide tailored support to our hospital and community staff. We supply extra equipment and aids to help provide care be delivered more efficiently for instance supplying the community nurses with waterproof bags and sturdy wellies to be prepared for any weather or terrain while on call. We also assist individuals arriving at the hospital without essentials like toiletries or clothing, ensuring they feel cared for from the moment they arrive and by providing any items they might be missing. Additionally, we’re here to support families as they stay close to their loved ones receiving care.
We’re committed to supporting healthcare in Teesdale, and by joining us, you can make a real difference.

Would you like to be one of our Friends?
There’s a common misconception that you need to pay to become a Friend of Richardson Hospital—but that’s not true!
There’s no membership fee or payment required; we just need you. Whether it’s a little of your time or sharing a skill, your support means the world. If you enjoy baking, knitting, or crafting and would like to donate an item now and then for our fundraising fairs, that would be amazing! New fundraising ideas are always welcome too.
We’d also love your help with running stalls, selling or buying raffle tickets, and raising awareness in the community. Sharing our events on social media is another great way to contribute—all of these efforts make a real difference. If you’re able to donate directly, we’re incredibly grateful, but honestly, just being yourself is what matters most to us.
